Do you ever find yourself feeling pressured, stressed and challenged to live out your Christian life every day. I would like to take a few minutes to share with you some insights about Law and Grace that might help you. When you live under the law you will trust in your own ability and outward performance to get to God. The law was given to us as our instruction for moral, social and spiritual behavior. The law makes demands that we cannot keep without Jesus. Obedience to the law must be absolute in every detail, and continuous. James 2:10 "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all." Living under the law is empty religion. Some examples of being bound to the law is criticism, finding fault, blaming others, demanding rights, rehearsing wounds, being in unforgiveness and bitterness tec. Now let's switch over to amazing Grace! Here are a few thoughts on grace. Grace gives you the ability to live a holy life. God sanctifies and sets us apart and we are to dedicate ourselves to the Lord. 2Cor 12:9(Passion Translation) "But He answered me, "My grace is always more than enough for you, and My power finds its full expression through your weakness." In the love of the Father, we find grace in the person of Jesus Christ including all of His power and provision. Some examples of living in grace are being encouraging, seeing our own faults first, releasing wounds, accepting and valuing others. We would be foolish to abandon God's way – which is grace. Why do we try to accomplish things in our own strength? It doesn't work. Remember we have grace in Jesus every day. To keep ourselves from wandering from grace we need to check our attitudes continuously throughout the day. Let's consider some questions. How are we dealing with people and situations that we encounter daily? What is coming out of our mouths? You will find peace and rest when you realize Grace has everything to do with Jesus and the work of the cross. In conclusion, we realize that apart from God we can do nothing. Psalms 16:2 and John 15:5. Jesus is our only answer. "I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain. Gal 2:21 I made a decision in my life to never give up no matter where I find myself. I am a work in progress. The bible says that we work out our own salvation with fear and trembling Phil 2:12 and the righteous man may fall seven times and they get back up. Proverbs 24:16 Jesus fulfilled the Law so let us live in His abounding grace. Law and Grace by Sue Good 8
